The Boise State wrestling team is now ranked #6 in the nation by  The Broncos (13-3, 4-0 in the Pac-10) pasted league foes Cal State Fullerton 37-4 and Cal Poly 41-0 last weekend.

This marks the first time in school history that two Boise State teams reached the national top 10 in Division 1 in the same school year.  Last fall, the Bronco football team was ranked in the top ten several different weeks, getting as high as #7 in the country.

Wrestlingreport's ranking is based on their projection of how each team will finish at the NCAA national tournament in March.  They place seven Broncos in the top 20 of their weight classes.  Sophomore Brent Chriswell (6-1) is #3 at 197 pounds, while Kirk Smith (28-1) at 184 pounds and Andrew Hochstrasser (27-2) at 133 pounds are both #4.  Adam Hall (26-3) is #6 at 157 pounds, while Jason Chamberlain (14-6) is #17 at 149 pounds, Tyler Sherfey (19-8) is #18 at 165 pounds and Nate Lee (11-3) is also #18 at 174 pounds.

Boise State hosts UC-Davis Saturday, February 7 and Stanford the following day in Bronco Gymnasium.  The Broncos close out the regular season at Oregon State and Portland State and then get ready for the Pac-10 tournament, which will be March 1-2 at Fullerton, California.
