Broncos enjoy New Year

Boise State beats Iowa State to win Humanitarian Bowl, and in so doing, expel the BCS monkey that had plagued them.

With their 34-16 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones of the Big 12 Conference, the Broncos look to move up in both the AP (#18) and the USAToday/ESPN Coaches (#15) Polls. The game was in question up until the start of the second half, when the Broncos, who trailed at halftime 10-7, reeled off an impressive 21 straight points, and outscored the Cyclones 27-7 to end the game. Bobby Hammer (10 tackles, 3 for loss) was named the Humanitarian Bowl MVP, while the ESPN crew that called the action dubbed Brock Forsey (3 TD's) as their MVP.

The Hbowl victory capped a dream season that saw them go 12-1, reach a peak ranking of #12 in the ESPN/Coaches Poll and #15 in the AP Poll.  The Broncos season in review:
