Los Alamitos HS CB Shaquille Richardson (Los Alamitos, CA) is receiving interest from numerous programs and the offers could start to roll in very soon. Boise State has recently showed strong interest and the feeling is mutual. "I have heard a lot of good things about their coaching staff and their academics," Richardson said in reference to the Broncos. "I personally like the field," he added.

The standout CB is hoping to land his first offer soon. "My top five are Cal, Oregon, Boise State, Arizona State, and Washington," he said. "I feel Washington, Oregon, and Boise State could be close to offering."

Shaquille sent his highlight film to BSU and the interest has continued to grow. "I had a highlight film sent to Boise State," he said. "Coach (Marcel) Yates said they liked the film and they want to see more game film."

Richardson (6'0, 170) enjoyed speaking with Coach Yates. "I like him. He's a nice guy. He's real down to earth and cool."

Boise State Head Coach Chris Petersen will make the trip to California to watch Richardson in action. "I talked to Coach Pete and he'll be coming down in two weeks," he said. "He made me feel comfortable and he joked around. He made a good impression," Richardson added.

Many recruits burst onto the scene with a solid showing in the camp circuit. Richardson is currently planning for a busy summer. "I'm going to the Boise State camp," he said. "I'd like to go to Cal and maybe Oregon and UCLA as well."

Last season, Los Alamitos finished with a 9-2 record and the Griffins will begin spring practice within the next couple weeks. Richardson will make the transition to offense this spring. "I want to get more comfortable at WR," he said. "Just do whatever I can on offense."

Shaquille racked up 29 tackles and 2 INTs for the Griffins during the 2008 season. The sky is the limit for 2009. "I don't want any calls on me in man coverage," he said. "I want a lot more tackles and forced fumbles. I also want 8 or 9 INTs," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Shaquille Richardson.
