Monte Vista HS QB Brett Nottingham (Danville, CA) is one of the top QB prospects on the Bronco recruiting board for 2010. Currently, Nottingham holds three offers and he's hoping to add more in the near future. "I have offers from Nevada, UC Davis, and Wyoming," he said. "I'm not favoring any right now," he added. Other programs showing interest are Boise State, UCLA, Colorado, and San Diego State.

The interest from Boise State has risen steadily over the past month. "Coach (Chris) Strausser came by and told me I was an offer candidate," he said. "I've met Coach Strausser twice. He came by my school in May to visit and talk with me."

Nottingham (6'4, 210, 4.7) thinks highly of the football program at Boise State. "They are such a high profile program and play amazing football," he said. "Coach Strausser was a real straight shooter. He's a real great guy and it would be a privilege to play for him."

The camp circuit is just starting to heat up and Nottingham has plans for a busy summer. "I'm going to UCLA, USC's Rising Stars Camp, Colorado, and then San Diego State. I've talked about going to Boise State and possibly back east to visit some Ivy League schools."

Academics are at the top of the list for Brett Nottingham when it comes to choosing a school. "It'll have to have a decent education," he said. "The NFL is always a goal. It's just not always realistic. I want to play on a good team and win games. I also want a place with good coaches and ones you can get along with," he added.

Danville, CA should be a familiar location to Bronco fans. It's the same town that produced a highly touted 2009 signee for Boise State. "Joe (Southwick) is a great QB and a great guy," Nottingham said. "I wouldn't shy away from going to Boise State. I believe Joe would have started ahead of me last year."

The Monte Vista Mustangs are one of many outstanding programs in the state of California. They finished yet another successful campaign in 2008 with an 8-3 record. "We usually go pretty deep in the playoffs," he said. "We're a hard working team. We lost to De La Salle and were 8-1 before losing two straight." Last season, Nottingham passed for 39 TDs and 3,200 yards.

Spring practice is currently in full swing at Monte Vista. "Spring practice started last Monday. It's going well so far. We have some guys to replace. I think we'll do well next season."

Success is simply defined as "team" for Nottingham. "I'm just keeping team goals," he said. "I just want Ws. I want to compete for the EBAL Championship and move on to the NCS and get a good seed. The ultimate goal is a state bid. Just take them one at a time," Nottingham added. will continue to have updates on Brett Nottingham.
