Prosser Hoss Makes Camp Rounds

6'6 299lb Prosser HS OL Kody Hartley (Prosser, WA) and his Mustang teammates recently made the trip to the Treasure Valley for the Boise State team camp. Are the Broncos looking at another Prosser star to add to the current pipeline? What is Hartley's opinion on playing with Kirby and Kellen Moore in college? He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his camp performance and his recruitment thus far.

Prosser HS OL Kody Hartley (Prosser, WA) and his Mustang teammates recently made the trip to the Treasure Valley for the Boise State team camp. The camp appears to have been a successful one for Hartley. "It was really fun," he said. "There were a lot of good teams and good competition."

Boise made a strong impression on Kody. "I like the campus and everyone around there," he said. "There are a lot of nice coaches and it's a good place to be. The football program is awesome," he added.

Hartley (6'6, 299) and the Bronco coaches made a solid connection while at the camp. "Coach (Scott) Huff is awesome with the O-line and fun to be around," he said. "I also talked to Coach Pete. Kind of bumped into him. He's an awesome guy and a great coach. He's just a really smart guy and knows how to get you going."

Kody, who also tripped to Provo, UT on the Monday following the Bronco camp, attended the camp at BYU. "I'll be going down to the individual camp at BYU on Monday," he said. "I try to talk to BYU at least once a week." BYU Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall has an excellent 2010 recruiting class so far and Hartley likes what he sees from the Cougars. "Coach Mendenhall is an awesome guy. He's really doing good with that program and making a lot of things important. Not just football. He just wants you to succeed and do good at football too."

The Broncos have built a solid pipeline with Prosser HS over the past few years with the addition of Kirby and Kellen Moore. Kody would like to play with the Moore brothers in college too. "It would be awesome because I've been around them," he said. "I'd love to play with them in college at the next level," Hartley added.

Hartley played with Kirby Moore for the past three seasons at Prosser. What does Kirby bring to Boise State? "Kirby is really strong, athletic, and fast," he said. "He's real fun to watch. He'll do good playing with his brother and he'll do awesome there, I think."

Legendary Prosser Head Coach Tom Moore retired following the 2008 season. It looks like the main change will be in the running game. "Coach Sonnichoson is our new coach," Hartley said. "He came back last year to help. We'll just be doing much more running this season."

Winning the state championship is the goal every season for the Prosser Mustangs. That goal will remain the same in 2009. "I want to go back and win state. I just want to get better and do awesome. We'll have a really good O-line this season."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Kody Hartley.
