Broncos Still Lead For California WR

Vista HS WR Troy Ware (Vista, CA) was offered by Boise State back in July and the Broncos have since moved to the top of his list. Ware and his teammates are focused on the 2009 season and making a run in the state playoffs. He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his interest in Boise State and his official visit to The Blue next month.

Vista HS WR Troy Ware (Vista, VA) was offered by Boise State back in July and the Broncos have since moved to the top of his list. "I'd say Boise State is my leader," he said.

The Boise State staff keeps in contact with Ware and they feel he could develop into a solid playmaker in the Bronco offense. "Coach K (Kwiatkowski) calls and emails me often," he said. "I just talked to Coach K and Coach Petersen yesterday. They are pretty straightforward about everything. They think I have a good upside and could develop into a good receiver," he added.

Ware (6'2, 170, 4.55) originally was scheduled to take his official visit to Boise State for the Miami(OH) game on September 12th. That had to be changed due to a late game on Friday night. "I called them yesterday and we changed the visit date," he stated. "It's now October 2nd. I'll be there for the UC Davis game."

The Broncos opened the season with a splash as they made national headlines with the victory over Oregon. That game didn't go unnoticed by the standout WR. "It sounded pretty loud on TV and Coach Petersen said it was really loud." The passing game and atmosphere impressed Ware. "I really liked the atmosphere at their stadium. (Austin) Pettis is pretty good," he said.

Vista will now play Fallbrook this Friday following a 35-7 victory last week. "We should beat them," he said. "We'll probably just play our normal game and run the ball."

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Troy Ware throughout his senior season.
