No One Expects Much From Boise State

After what Boise State has accomplished over the last decade and especially the last two years, you would think the Bronco team would earn more respect. Not so. No one is giving them any chance against TCU in the upcoming Fiesta Bowl.

In the aftermath to the thrill and excitement of Boise State being invited to the 2010 Fiesta Bowl comes a cold slap in the face.

Immediately after the game with TCU was announced, three separate polls on ESPN, Fox and CBSSports were featured on their web sites. The question was: "Which team deserves to be in the national title game?" The choices were Texas, TCU, Cincinnati and Boise State. Texas was the slight winner in all three polls, with TCU a very close second. Boise State received about 7 percent of the nationwide vote. Seven percent.

An Associated Press article in this morning's paper listed the the same four teams and gave reasons why each team deserved to be in the national title game. Except when he came to Boise State, he said "they really don't have a case." This from a school that became the second team in the modern era to put together four unbeaten, untied regular seasons in six years! From a team that has won 25 consecutive regular season games!

Following the bowl pairings, TCU was made to be a four-point favorite. That spread is now up to eight.

It seems no one from outside BroncoNation gives Boise State any chance to even come close to the Horned Frogs, much less win.

There is a nation of doubters.
