Chamberlain, Hall Record 2nd-Place Finishes

Jason Chamberlain and Adam Hall captured second-place finishes to highlight action for Boise State in the annual Reno Wrestling Tournament of Champions today.  

Hall took his first four matches, one by fall, before losing 6-5 to Cyler Sanderson of Penn State in the championship match at 157 pounds.  Chamberlain also was victorious in four consecutive matches to reach the championship at 149 pounds.  Frank Molinaro of Penn State won a tough 3-1 decision over Chamberlain to take the title.  

Oklahoma State easily won the team title with 154 points while Edinboro had 85.5 and Penn State 83.  The Broncos were eighth with 57 points, wrestling without five of their top athletes.  Andrew Hochstrasser (133 pounds), Levi Jones (141), Nate Lee (174), Kirk Smith (184) and Sam Zylstra (heavyweight) did not compete today for Boise State .  Hochstrasser and Smith are both ranked third in the nation in their respective weight classifications, Lee is #8 and Jones is #13.    

Boise State , which is ranked #4 in the country by one publication, is off for the holidays before resuming action the weekend of January 9th at the National Duals in Cedar Falls , Iowa .
