Jason Chamberlain and Adam Hall captured second-place
finishes to highlight action for
in the annual Reno Wrestling Tournament of Champions today.
Hall took his first four matches, one by fall, before
losing 6-5 to Cyler Sanderson of
in the championship match at 157 pounds. Chamberlain
also was victorious in four consecutive matches to reach the championship at 149
pounds. Frank Molinaro of
won a tough 3-1 decision over Chamberlain to take the title.
easily won the team title with 154 points while Edinboro had 85.5 and Penn State 83. The Broncos were eighth
with 57 points, wrestling without five of their top athletes.
Andrew Hochstrasser (133 pounds), Levi Jones (141), Nate Lee (174), Kirk
Smith (184) and Sam Zylstra (heavyweight) did not compete today for
. Hochstrasser and Smith are both
ranked third in the nation in their respective weight classifications, Lee is #8
and Jones is #13.
