Lake Oswego HS QB Austin Kent (Lake Oswego, OR) is currently receiving interest from schools coast to coast. He will most likely be one of the top prospects in the State of Oregon for the 2011 recruiting class. "The schools that are showing the most interest are UCLA, Duke, Northwestern, Boise State, and Oregon State," he said. "Alabama, Kansas State, and Stanford have also shown a little interest," he added.

Kent is already familiar with the Boise State campus as he took an unofficial visit to The Blue a few years ago. "Boise State is awesome," he said. "I went there on an unofficial visit going into my sophomore year. They've really been tearing it up and have a lot of things going their way."

Austin will attend the Bronco Football Camp this summer. "I spoke to Coach Viliami (Tuivai) last year," he stated. "I've been emailing Julius (Brown) a bit. He is going to send me some info about the camp and I'm going to go."

Kent (6'6, 215) played at Central Catholic HS in Portland in 2009 and just recently transferred to Lake Oswego HS. He's hoping to have an outstanding senior season with his new teammates. The standout QB believes he brings solid leadership to the Lake Oswego program. "It all starts with my work ethic," Kent stated. "I love working towards my goal and that's to obviously win games. I believe I have good leadership ability and a solid pocket presence."

Lake Oswego will have to be in mid-season form when they open the 2010 season as they will play the Skyline Spartans out of Sammamish, WA. The Spartans took home yet another 4A State Championship in 2009 and Kent is looking forward to the challenge. "Our first game is against Skyline," he said. "Me and my receivers are already working hard preparing for that game. I imagine that we'll start on our game plan in spring practice," he added.
