#29 Boise State Hosts BYU, Utah State

Boise State, BYU and Utah State will see who has the top women's gymnastics team this Friday night. The Broncos host their two rivals from Utah in a triangular meet beginning Friday night at 7 in Taco Bell Arena.

Boise State posted the 18th best women's gymnastics score in the nation (196.100) in topping Southern Utah on the road, but it still wasn't enough to impress the coaches. The Broncos remained at #29 this week.

They will have another opportunity to show their stuff this weekend when Boise State (9-1, 4-0 in the Western Athletic Conference) hosts #33 BYU and #49 Utah State Friday night in Taco Bell Arena.

Junior Hannah Redmon was honored for the second time this year as the WAC Specialist of the Week after winning the individual vault title last weekend with a super 9.925. Boise State is coming off a school record 49.350 on the vault in the win over Southern Utah. Redmon is #6 all-time at Boise State in all-around career wins with six. Boise State is #16 in the country on the vault, but is #33 on bars, #34 on floor and #37 on beam.

BYU is 2-8 this season but scored 195.350 against Utah State two weeks ago. Megan Donahue is tied for #59 in the country on bars and #32 on beam, while Danielle Goldman is #85 on the floor for the Cougars.

Utah State is 1-12, 0-4 in the WAC this season. They too scored their best in the BYU meet with a 190.725. Heather Heinrich paces the Aggies with good overall talent—she is #52 in the all-around rankings.

Fans are asked to donate to the canned food drive that will benefit the Idaho Food Bank. Collection bins will be placed by the entrance. Tickets are $5 for adults and just $3 for juniors and seniors.

The triangular meet begins Friday at 7 p.m. at Taco Bell Arena.
