Boise State Gets Road Win In Logan

Boise State's women's basketball team was able to down Utah State last night 67-57 in Logan. The Lady Broncos are now tied for fourth in the WAC pending a date with Louisiana Tech Saturday afternoon in Boise.

Boise State came from behind to down Utah State 57-47 on the road last night in Logan .  

Janie Bos and Tasha Harris combined for 31 points and 24 rebounds against the 12-16 Aggies.  With Melissa Rima and Jessica Van Hoogen either out or hobbled with injuries, Bos's play was huge for Coach Gordy Presnell.   

"I'm so proud of the team, they played so hard tonight," said coach Presnell. "We came in two players short tonight and the team really responded by playing together and not giving up."  

Bos recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 16 points and 16 rebounds.  Harris had 15 points and eight boards while Rebecca Kepilino added eight points.  

Despite a 21-14 lead with 8:26 to play in the first half, Boise State scored just two more points before halftime and Utah State held a 25-23 advantage at the break.  The Lady Broncos stormed out of the locker room with a 17-6 spurt that gave them a 40-31 lead with 12 minutes to play.   

Utah State closed within three points twice, the last at 47-44 with 4:44 remaining.  Bos scored eight of the last 10 Bronco points including four consecutive free throws.

With the win, Boise State is now 18-11 overall but just 7-8 in the Western Athletic Conference.  Presnell's team kept hopes alive for a #4 seed in next week's WAC Tournament.  Boise State , Idaho and New Mexico State are all 7-8 in conference play. 

Boise State will host Louisiana Tech this Saturday at 2 p.m. in Taco Bell Arena.
