Hill College PG Chris Kupets (Hillsboro, TX) signed with Boise State last fall. The Broncos struggled this past season and that led to the firing of Head Coach Greg Graham. This usually means lots of uncertainty for recruits that have signed with a particular school, but that is not the case for Kupets. He remains firm in his commitment to Boise State. "I'm still coming," he said. "I talked to Coach (Tim) Cleary the other day and let him know," he added.

Hill College had a young roster full of talent this past season. That usually means some growing pains. "We played with six freshmen," he said. "We finished like 5th or 6th in the conference. The schedule doesn't really show how good we played. We played good for the players we have," he added.

The future Bronco quickly grew into a leadership role with the young players around him. He embraced that role and believes he became a better all-around player. "I think I really became a solid PG," he stated. "I learned to score when I have to, get the team involved when I have to, and go grab the rebounds. I think I became the full package." Kupets finished the season averaging 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists per game.

Kupets (5'11, 180) is set to arrive in Boise and enroll for a summer session in just a few months. "I'm supposed to enroll for the first summer session in June," he said. "I'm going to work as hard as I can when I get there and be the best player I can be."

Chris has aspirations of bringing a conference championship to Boise State. "I want to win the conference and get to the NCAA Tournament," Kupets said. "I want to help the other players get better and become a better PG. I want to be more mature and better at life too," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Chris Kupets.
