Centennial HS QB Cody Kessler (Bakersfield, CA) recently took a trip to the East Coast as he took unofficial visits to Alabama and Pittsburgh. He returned from that trip with a new offer in hand as Alabama became the latest school to put an offer on the table. "It was the first time I've been out there," he said in reference to his trip to the East Coast. "I've got family out there so I got to see my grandma. We drove up to Pittsburgh after we visited Alabama," he added.

The exciting part of the visit came when he sat down with Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban in his office. Little did he realize that he was about to receive an offer from the Crimson Tide. "Coach Saban took me, my dad, and my grandma into his office and he offered me," Kessler said. "I was kind of surprised when he offered. He said he wants me and the other QBs to come back and compete at the camp."

Cody (6'2, 218, 4.77) is now planning another unofficial visit to Boise State. This will mark the second time he has visited Boise unofficially as he also made the trip to The Blue to watch the Broncos battle New Mexico State last season. "Boise State was my first unofficial visit. I really got to know what it was going to be like," he stated. "I liked watching Kellen Moore play and had a lot of fun at their game. It's a great environment and I loved the town. I could definitely see myself playing there."

Boise State hasn't put an offer on the table yet. Kessler is hoping that changes soon. "We'll most likely be up there Wednesday through Saturday," he said. "Me and my mom are going to go up there and compare it to Alabama and Pitt. I'm hoping I can get an offer. That's the main thing I want." The Broncos currently sit in Kessler's top four. "My top schools are Pitt, Alabama, Boise State, and Fresno State."

The standout QB has been keeping in touch with the Bronco coaching staff. "I talked to Coach Harsin four or five days ago," he said. "Coach Petersen emailed me on Saturday or Monday. He said he has been watching my tapes and that they want me to come play QB for them."

There won't be an off-season for Kessler this summer as he's planning on staying busy. "I'm lifting every day and throwing every day," he said. "I'm also training at The Edge. A guy who played at Fresno runs it."
