"This will be a great game to start the 2011 season," Boise State Director of Athletics Gene Bleymaier stated.  "Playing a team coached by Houston Nutt will add to the fun and excitement."

Nutt coached Boise State in 1997 and is widely regarded as the man who set the table for Boise State 's current success.  The 2011 game against his former team will be the third time he has faced his former team.  Nutt coached Arkansas when they played Boise State in 2000 and 2002.  Now, Nutt has transformed ‘Ole Miss into a contender in the tough Southeastern Conference.

Mississippi finished the 2009 campaign with a 9-4 record, including regular season victories over Tennessee and LSU and a 21-7 win over Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl.

"We're excited for the match-up against Ole Miss," Boise State Head Coach Chris Petersen said. "It will be great for Bronco Nation and the Boise State program to open the 2011 season against an opponent of that caliber."

Boise State will also play Wyoming at home on September 10, at Toledo on the 17th, Tulsa in Bronco Stadium on September 24, and Utah finally coming to Boise on October 1.
