Boise State's Home Wins Adding Up

Boise State's 56 consecutive regular season home victories have the Broncos within reach of two more modern college football records. But the team will have to wait two years to see if they can reach them.

Boise State is currently tied for second place for the most regular season home wins over a 10-year period in the modern era and is tied for third for the best regular season home record over that time period in modern times.

The Broncos are 61-1 since 2000 and are tied with the famous Miami Hurricane football teams from 1986-1995 for the second-best modern home record over 10 years.  Boise State is tied with Miami and Oklahoma (2000-2009) for the most home victories in a 10-year span.

Alabama (33-0 from 1972-1981) is the modern record holder for the best record while Nebraska (64-1 from 1992-2001) holds the modern day mark for the most regular season home victories over 10 years.  Princeton (1890-1899) is the all-time leader for the best record at 57-0 while Pennsylvania is the NCAA record holder for most regular season home wins in a 10-year period with a record of 105-10 from 1895-1904.

If Boise State is fortunate enough to win its home games this season, they would advance to the third-best modern record of all-time at 62-1.  The Broncos would have to sweep all home games this year and next to break the modern record held by Alabama (33-0).  Boise State would be 63-0 from 2002-2011 under that scenario.

It would not only take a perfect slate to tied Nebraska's modern record for regular season victories in a 10-year period but also 13 home games.  Boise State is 51-0 from 2002-2009 and needs 64 home wins to tie the Cornhuskers.
