Boise State Accepts MWC Invite For 2011

According to reliable sources, BroncoCountry has learned that the Mountain West Conference has extended an invitation to Boise State and it has been accepted.

Numerous reliable sources have said that Boise State has accepted an invitation to join the Mountain West Conference. There has been speculation that the Big 12 is interested in inviting Boise State as well.

According to the sources, Boise State will become the 10th member of the Mountain West effective July 1, 2011. Reportedly, there will be a news conference this afternoon at 2 p.m. Mountain time to announce the move.

Boise State has been a member of the Western Athletic Conference since 2001. The Broncos will join Air Force, Brigham Young, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, Texas Christian, UNLV, Utah and Wyoming in the Mountain West.
