De La Salle LB Blake Renaud (Concord, CA) currently holds four offers with the most recent one coming from Boise State. The outstanding LB prospect plays for the top program in California and is hoping to visit a couple schools this summer. What two schools are currently on his list? "I'm going to try to visit Oregon State and Boise State," he said. "I'll visit one school and then fly over to the next one," he added.

The recruiting season never ends at De La Salle. Coaches from all over the country stop by the Concord campus each and every year. Boise State is looking to reload on defense and there aren't too many better places to look than De La Salle. The Spartans have a stellar defense every year and the Bronco coaches came away impressed with their solid LB prospect. An offer was on the table for Renaud (6'2, 233, 4.69) shortly after their visit to campus. "It was kind of surprising," he stated. "Some of their coaches came down and saw some of the people at our school. I got a call from Coach Strausser and he told me to call the LBs Coach. I did and that's when he said they were going to offer."

Blake hasn't spoken to Head Coach Chris Petersen yet, but he's already a big fan of both him and the program. "I think it's a great program. They have the best winning record over the past few years," he said. "Coach Petersen is a winner. The team changes every year and yet the results stay the same in winning percentage. He's obviously a great coach."

Boise State and De La Salle actually have quite a lot in common. Both programs have dominated their competition in recent years and both are all about the family atmosphere. That family atmosphere is exactly what Renaud is looking for on the college level. "Well, I'm looking for a family atmosphere," he said. "I want that in a team. I don't want to play for a team that's just a bunch of individuals. I also want to play for coaches that can teach me stuff and an area where I can see myself living for four years."

Last season, De La Salle won the state championship yet again. Basically, any year that the Spartans don't win state is considered a "down year" in their eyes. Blake already has two state championship rings and he's hoping to add a third in 2010. "Our goal is to go undefeated and win state," he said. "Off-season conditioning just started on Monday. We're doing field work, ladders, conditioning, and lifting," Renaud added.

In 2009, Blake racked up 55 tackles, 2 INTs, and had 1 fumble recovery.
