Rocklin HS QB Jimmy Laughrea (Rocklin, CA) committed to Boise State last month and just recently made another trip back to The Blue for the annual Boise State Football Camp. The future Bronco performed extremely well and he's planning on working hard all summer as he prepares to lead his team during the 2010 season. "It was awesome. It was great to be up there with the coaches and be able to work with them. It was just a great experience," he said. "Now we have our team camp on Monday and summer practices after that," he added.

The talented QB got to meet a few of his future teammates as well. He spent some time with Chase Baker, Tyrone Crawford, and Michael Atkinson while he was in Boise. "It was fun hanging out with them," he stated. "They're just regular guys. It was just like hanging out with my friends."

Jimmy competed on a "renegade team" and put on a show during the 7-on-7 competition. To say that he and his teammates were on target would be an understatement. "Man, there was some players on my team," Laughrea said. "We had about four receivers that were outstanding. There was one session where we didn't drop one ball."

Laughrea was looking to get some one-on-one time with Offensive Coordinator Bryan Harsin prior to the camp. His future coach worked with him on his footwork and form. "Coach Harsin had me working on footwork and form. He wanted me to do a few things different," he said. "It was good to get coaching from him one-on-one. He knows what he's talking about as a former QB. It's nice to be able to get coached by someone who has played the position."

Rocklin finished the 2009 season with an outstanding record of 14-1. Jimmy plans on working with his WRs this summer as they prepare for another season. "For me, I want to get the timing down with my receivers," he said. "I want everyone to know the plays and formations so we can move forward as the season goes on," he added.

Laughrea (6'2, 187, 4.76) has taken two trips to Boise in just the past month. It's safe to say he's already looking forward to that next trip. "I just can't wait to get up there and play some Bronco football," he said.
