Vista HS WR Troy Ware (Vista, CA) signed with Boise State as a member of the 2010 recruiting class back in February. There was always the possibility that he could grayshirt, but the talks started heating up in the middle of June. He received a call later that month from the Boise State staff asking him if he'd be ok with grayshirting and he agreed. "It happened in late June," he said. "Coach Petersen called and told me that it looks like I'll be grayshirting. Nothing much has changed other than that," he added.

Troy will remain in Vista, CA until he enrolls at Boise State in January. Grayshirting will allow him to put some extra work in as he hopes to get bigger and stronger. "There are a lot of advantages," he stated. "I'll get another semester of lifting so I can get bigger, stronger, and faster."

Ware will participate in the Alex Spanos All-Star Game on Friday. Usually, these games are all for fun, but Troy is taking it much more serious than that. "I'm kind of treating it like college," he said. "I'm trying to learn the plays, take notes, and stuff like that. It's kind of the same offense that Boise runs."

The future Bronco took his official visit to Boise State and attended the UC Davis game last October. He committed to Boise State only a few days later. Looking back, the coaching staff and the atmosphere at Bronco Stadium played a big role in his commitment. "The coaches were nice guys and real knowledgeable," Ware said. "I got a long good with the players and my hosts were cool. I like how the fans treat the players too. I remember being asked to sign a few autographs when I was walking around outside of the game. That was really cool."

Troy (6'2, 178, 4.55) has already set some lofty expectations for himself. His goal is to work hard and be the best WR to ever play at Boise State. "I want to be the best WR to come through there. I want to learn as much as I can from the older ones above me," he said. "I'm going to do the best I can and try to make it to the pros," he added.

In 2009, Ware had 45 receptions for 650 yards and 6 TDs.
