Broncos Lead For Bellevue O-lineman

Bellevue HS OL Marcus Henry (Bellevue, WA) attended the Boise State Football Camp in June and received an offer from the Broncos a couple weeks later. Now he's planning another visit to The Blue in just a few weeks. Could he possibly commit following that visit? He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his interest in Boise State and his upcoming visit to The Blue.

Bellevue HS OL Marcus Henry (Bellevue, WA) attended the Boise State Football Camp in June and received an offer from the Broncos a couple weeks later following his stellar performance at the camp. Now he's planning another visit to The Blue in just a few weeks. Could he possibly commit following that visit? "I think there's a pretty solid chance," he said. "We'll see how the visit goes," he added.

Henry liked the high intensity and up-tempo aspect of the camp. "I liked the way the camp was run," he stated. "For me, I like high intensity and up-tempo practices. That's what Boise State did. I also love the blue turf and the facilities are real nice."

Head Coach Chris Petersen extended an offer to Marcus just a couple weeks later following the camp. The standout O-lineman will now make a return trip and get a better feel for the campus. "I think my dad and I are going to go down there the first or second week of August," Henry said. "I want to see a little bit more of the campus since we stayed at the athletic facilities at the camp. I'd like to explore the campus a bit and see how I like the atmosphere."

The Bellevue football program is no stranger to success. They're consistently one of the top programs in the state and have won back-to-back state championships. They finished with a 12-2 record in 2009 and Henry believes they can win it again. "Our team is really young, but we'll have a formidable team this upcoming season. We have a lot of talent in the younger classes," he said. "I think we can be just as good as last year."

The path to success starts in the summer with the offseason conditioning program. Henry and his teammates are already working hard in preparation for the 2010 season. "We've been lifting each day for two hours, doing some footwork drills, and some optional conditioning," he said. "We also just got back from our team camp that we go to every year," he added.

What does Henry (6'3, 275, 4.93) bring to the field? "I think I bring good leadership, good intensity, toughness on the football field, and a really good work ethic," he said.
