Pettis is the 8/7 Camper of the Day

It is a very good sign that one of Boise State's walking wounded in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl is back and true to form. Austin Pettis was today's Camper of the Day in an announcement by Bronco coach Chris Petersen. (Photo by rights reserved.)

Boise State's football team participated in Day Two of fall camp as the Broncos strive for 110% effort from their players. Wide receiver Austin Pettis was tabbed as Head Coach Chris Petersen's Camper of the Day.

"Austin is back full speed, 100 percent, and [he is] bringing intensity and making tough catches," Petersen said. "It feels like a long time since we had him, so it is really nice having him 100 percent healthy. He's also got 90 percent of his game back. That is what fall camp is about; getting the rest of his game just right. So it is great to see him back out there."

Pettis is eager for full contact drills to get back to game speed. He enters his senior season with a chance to break Don Hutt's 30-year old receiving records. Pettis was an All-Western Athletic Conference performer last season after breaking the school mark for touchdown receptions (14) and catching 63 balls for 855 yards. In his career, "AP" has 158 receptions for 1,887 yards and 29 touchdowns.
