vs. Maine Black Bears (5-6, 4-4)
Sep. 5 at Alumni Stadium
In Boston College’s first game of the 2015 season, the Eagles will host the Maine Black Bears on September 5. Maine traveled down to Chestnut Hill last season and was blown out 40-10.
The BC vs. Maine rivalry is much bigger on the ice than it is on the gridiron, as the two schools have only played eight games against each other in over 100 years. The Eagles own a 5-3 series lead, and have won the last three matchups.
ESPN gives the Eagles a 95.7 percent chance of winning, as calculated by ESPN FPI.
The Eagles have crushed FCS foes in the past, as they have a 22-game win streak against teams from the subdivision.
This game will be really rewarding for head coach Steve Addazio and his young program. The Eagles will be breaking in a new quarterback, most likely Tyler Murphy, and a completely revamped offensive line. The first quarter or two will be a time for the squad to gel together and for new players to get their feet wet, but Maine doesn’t have the talent or depth to pose a real threat to the Eagles.
Insider Prediction: BC: 24, Maine: 13
