Boston College Football 60-Sec Preview

The Boston College Eagles' season starts Saturday. Get up-to-date with what's happening in Chestnut Hill.

In Coach Addazio's third year at the helm, the Eagles will be looking for another winning record and trip to a bowl game, but that will be an uphill battle, especially on offense.

Some of the Eagles key cogs on offense including all five starting linemen, and quarterback Tyler Murphy have graduated. Also, tight end Mike Giacone, who played in every game last season, is out with a leg injury that will have him sidelined for the entirety of the season.

On Saturday, sophomore gunslinger Darius Wade will be the opening day starter, as he was named the first-string quarterback early in camp. He received limited snaps last season.

The linemen situation is, as Addazio called it, “a work in progress.”

If the offensive line can open up some holes, the Eagles have a plethora of solid backs that can gain yards on the ground. Jon Hilliman is the feature back, as the sophomore was the second-leading rusher last season behind current-Pittsburgh Steeler Tyler Murphy

The special teams and the secondary were also question marks last season, but all eyes will be the offensive line and whether they can gel when they take on the University of Maine on Saturday.
