Boston College trounced the University of Maine last year 40-10. The Eagles should win their fourth consecutive against the Black Bears at Alumni Stadium on Saturday.
The Eagles are much more talented football team than their FCS foes, as better recruiting classes and superior coachin have helped Boston College dominate the Black Bears of late.
In 2015, Boston College still has more size and skill than their cross-state oppoenents, but with an inexperienced group on offense, the more-seasoned defense will have to keep the Bears out of the endzone.
In a press conference earlier this week, Coach Steve Addazio made it clear that Maine is a top-tier FCS football team that will be a challenge to beat.
"Maine has been one of the steadiest teams in FCS football," Addazio said. "They’ve had some great seasons. They are well-coached, well-put-together, tough, physical. They’ve got some really good players. They are a very fine team...You can play weak FCS opponents. We’re not playing one here. This isn’t a weak FCS opponent. This is an excellent FCS opponent that has a history of winning big games.”
Addazio also mentioned that if the Eagles can keep their mistakes to a minimum, than they should be entering Week 2 with a winning record.
