The Last Matchup
Eli Carter had 13 points in the first meeting against Syracuse this season
Boston College got off to an early lead but allowed Syracuse a 14 point run. The Orange finished the half on 21-4 run and took a 30-15 lead heading into the half.
Boston College started off the second half with a 13-5 run, but the Orange respond with an 18-3 run to retake control of the game.
The Orange finished the rest of the game in routine fashion, and won by a final score of 62-40
The Eagles will need Carter to score the basketball consistently as the only other player averaging over 10 points for Jim Christians team is Jerome Robinson who is currently out with a fractured wrist
Dennis Clifford will need to play well and control the boards as the Eagles dont have to much height.
Michael Gbinije is Syracuse’s leading scorer right now and one of the better players in the country. The Eagles will need to contest his shots and keep an eye at all times.
Guard, Malachi Richardson put up 14 points against the Eagles last time and will play a big part in the game today.
Boston College is coming off a tough 68-65 loss to the top-ranked University of North Carolina Tar Heels on Tuesday. The Eagles played very well in this game, but are sitting in a position they have been in before. Boston College faced off against a very good Duke Blue Devils team earlier in the season and they lost, but despite the outcome, the Eagles were pleased with their performance. The very next game they played was against a very good Notre Dame team. BC looked to comfortable to start the game, and it got ugly real fast. The tone in the press-conference after the game against Duke was very similar to Tuesday night after the UNC loss. Boston College will have to stay focused on this game and put the last game in the past, otherwise it will be an ugly one for the Eagles.
