Speedy RB Has BC Offer

Benjamin Tate, the star running back out of Stephen Decatur High School (Maryland), last year ran for an amazing 2,886 yards and 41 touchdowns. Those numbers have gotten him offers from some of the better programs in college football.

Benjamin Tate Profile

Tate currently holds offers from Boston College, Michigan State, Penn State, North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, and SEC champion Auburn. Surprisingly though at this time none of those schools are his favorites, he says that his favorites right now are Miami, Virginia, and Michigan.

What does Tate look for in a college?

"First thing is academics, I am looking for a school with my major, criminal justice. Also the coaching staff need to have a good relationship with the coaches. Also how I fit in the system, and of course how good the offensive line is.

Out of all the coaches, Tate said that he has the best relationship with Coach Poindexter from Virginia.

What does Tate like about Virginia?

"They are a good school academics wise, and last year they got the #1 offensive lineman, Eugene Monroe, so that's a plus."

For junior days Tate has attended three Maryland, Penn State, and North Carolina. He said he enjoyed North Carolina's the most, because that was the day that they defeated Duke to win the ACC Championship.

Tate only has one summer camp planned so far, and he says it will definitely be Auburn. He is unsure if he will attend any other camps.

Tate could also be a potential Christmas gift to one school and its fans, as he plans to make a decision on a school in December, probably around Christmas-time.
