Game Overview

-Quinton Porter makes his return to quarterback as a fifth-year senior after a year with the scout team. In 2003, Porter threw for 1,764 yards and 14 scores in ten games as starting QB.

-BYU defeated Notre Dame in their home opener last season by a score of 20-17. The Cougars begin 2005 with a new Head Coach, however, in Bronco Mendenhall.

-Boston College returns all five starters from an offensive line that paved the way for three separate backs to record 100-yard games in 2004.

-BYU has had injury problems in their defensive secondary this summer. Coach Mendenhall indicated that opposite Nate Soelberg at corner, Kayle Buchanan, Chris Hale and Justin Robinson are all somewhat injured.

-The Eagles have never played a game in Utah.

-In 1985, BYU defeated the Eagles in the teams' only previous match-up.
