Fiacchi Looking For First Offer

Will Fiacchi is a quarterback prospect from New York who has received early interest from many schools. He is still looking for his first offer, but many schools have asked him to come to camp and junior days so they can get a closer look at him. Eagle Insider caught up with to get an update on his recruiting.

Unlike most quarterback prospects, Will Fiacchi got the attention of recruiters in his sophomore season. As a sophomore, Fiacchi threw 164 completions on 266 attempts for 2176 yards and 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in his first year as a starting quarterback.

The interest continued through his junior season and is beginning to pick up as schools get serious about offering quarterbacks.

"I talked to Syracuse. They want me to come to a prospect camp this summer. That's on June 7th. They really liked my tape, but they want to work me out and see me up close."

Syracuse is the local school and would naturally show the earliest interest. The Orange are not the only school involved with Will at this time. Recruiters from around the country have inquired about his services and invited him to summer camps.

"I'm going to Syracuse this summer. I also got invited to Connecticut, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Rutgers and NC State. My dad also talks to the coaches at BC from time to time. I don't hear from them as much as some other schools, but they are interested."

In addition to summer camps, Will has been invited to various junior days from schools around the country.

I've been invited to Syracuse, Virginia, Illinois, Wake and Purdue. There's a bunch of schools calling and sending mail. I don't know if I can see them all. UCLA is far away and I probably can't get out there. NC State is also going to be tough to get to this summer with my schedule."

As far as the local school, Syracuse is sticking out early in the process.

"I talk to coach Conley and he is the head of recruiting. They are local and I would say they are the top of the list at this point. I have a real good relationship with them right now."

As far as what Will is looking for in a school, the offense will be important. "I'm more of a passer than a runner. I probably fit better in a passing system. So, that's what I'm looking for."

Will did attend the Army Combine over the winter but has no plans at this point to attend any combines in the spring. He will be hitting many college camps in the summer.
