Q&A: Andre Lawrence

With Signing Day done, Eagle Insider will be following up the 2009 class. This is the thirteenth installment of a series of Q&A sessions. This time it is Andre Lawrence, who took some time to talk with Eagle Insider.

EI: Which coach played the biggest part in your recruitment to BC?

AL: Mike Siravo.

EI: What position have you been told you will be starting your BC career at?

AL: Outside linebacker.

EI: How would you describe your game on the field at this point?

AL: Just do my job basically, I don't really know how to explain it. When I play it is a whole different story. I am a speed linebacker.

EI: What do you listen to before a football game?

AL: I listen to a lot of Styles P and down south music like T.I. But mostly it is Styles P.

EI: Who was your host on your official visit?

AL: Isaac Johnson.

EI: Funniest or most memorable moment or person from official visit?

AL: During halftime of the Notre Dame game three of us came upstairs to eat. I out ate one of the D-Tackle recruits (Devin Bolling) by a couple meatball subs, two hot dogs, and like 5 cookies. It was me, Sterlin (Phifer), and a D-Tackle from VA that I don't think committed (Devin Bolling).

EI: Have you kept in touch with any BC players or fellow commitments?

AL: Jim Noel, as well as Sterlin Phifer a little bit.

EI: What was the reason you chose BC, other than big time football and great academics?

AL: On my first visit junior year, it was just the sense of feeling at home there.

EI: If I didn't choose BC, I would have gone to______.

AL: That's a tough choice because it was down to three schools when I chose…BC, Maryland, and UCONN.

EI: With the coaching change did you once again consider those schools?

AL: I made my commitment in the summer before my senior year, so the coaching change didn't bother me. I was sticking with my commitment as long as the defensive staff stayed.

EI: Which home-cooked meal are you going to miss the most while at college?

AL: The spaghetti, either my sister or mother makes it, with meatballs, Italian sausage, the works.

EI: Hottest celebrity you would like to go out with, kind of like your dream girl?

AL: Lauren London. She is from a movie I watch all the time with T.I also in it called ATL.

EI: When at a party, what's your best line with a girl?

AL: My best line? I have no idea, I don't use lines.
