Foose Focused On Two

One of the top targets on the offensive line for Boston College is Danny Foose. The Paramus linemen has seen his stock rise considerably during the spring evaluation period, with his offer list doubling in a month.

New Jersey lineman Dan Foose started out with a couple of favorites before the May evaluation period. Rutgers and Boston College were the main schools recruiting him. Both offered early and continue recruit the talented big man.

"Recruiting is going real well. Coach Devine and Coach Brock were in a week ago and I got a chance to talk with them for a few minutes. I plan to get up there again before the season. I want to do it soon. My coach says I should get up there as soon as possible. I've been up there three or four times now. "

Summer visits will be crucial for Dan as he plans to make his college decision before the start of his football season. With summer workouts beginning in just two months, he will try to pack in as many visits as possible between now and August.

"I want to decide before the season. I want to visit all the schools this summer. All the coaches have been calling me and sending me letters. Boston College and Rutgers are the highest on my list right now, but I want to give everyone a look before I decide.

"I'm going to as many visits as possible. My coach will give me time to go on visits. It may not be possible to get to everyone, but I will be up at BC this summer and some of the other schools."

Dan Foose has a famous last name and some have wondered if he is related to the famous California car builder who stars on the The Learning Channel.

"No, I'm not related to the guy on TV. You never know though, maybe he's a distant relative. I should find that out as it would be pretty good to know the guy who does all those cars on TV."

As far as what Dan is looking for in a college, football will play a big role. Unlike most prospects, it is not about how many games they win or how often they are on TV.

"The thing is I want to be a part of a good football program. I also want a good education. Great coach, great line coach. The strength coach in critical. That's the most important guy for linemen, more important than the other coaches. He is the one who gets you physically ready to compete."

Wherever Dan decides to go, he is pretty sure about what he will do on the field and in the classroom.

"For a major, I want to major in finance. That's what plan to major in no matter where I go to school. For football, I expect to play offensive line. The coaches tell me I can play either guard or tackle. To start it will be just where I can help the team best. Maybe at some point I move to one or the other. I can play both so I have no preference."

Dan expects to make his final visits this summer and then decide before summer football sessions begin in August.
