Eagles Offer Wynn

A new name on the recruiting scene is New Jersey wide receiver Jawaun Wynn. The Garden State prospect hit the camp circuit in June and impressed at every stop. So much so that he has received offers at every camp. The latest to offer is Boston College.

Every offensive coach dreams of the big, fast wide receiver with the strength to catch balls in traffic. Finding those guys is never easy. One guy who has the body for that role is Jawaun Wynn. The 6'4" wide out from New Jersey has been burning up the camp circuit with sub-4.5 forty times.

"I was at the UConn camp and ran the forty in the 4.3 range. At Boston College I ran a 4.5, but they tell me it is a slower track."

It was at the Boston College camp where he received an offer from the Eagles.

"I was at the Boston College one day camp. It really went well. I liked it a lot. It is a real strong academic school, the facilities are nice and the coaches were great. I really got a long with the coaches and I felt like were on the same page as far as school and football."

Because of his combination of size and speed, he projects at a number of positions in college. Right now, coaches see him as a receiver.

"I'm a wide receiver in high school. This year they want me to play some safety too. I think in college I'm a receiver. I have good hands and usually the guys who can catch the ball play receiver and the guys who can't play defensive back. All of the coaches say they want me as a receiver."

With offers coming in, it is time to start thinking about his options and deciding on a college.

"I'm probably going to make a decision in August or maybe early September. I'm looking at BC, Pittsburgh, Temple, Connecticut, Syracuse and Rutgers. I've been offered by BC, UConn and Pittsburgh. Syracuse and Temple are waiting on my film before they can offer. Pittsburgh told me they are waiting on some other guys they have offered first."

With camps just about wrapped up, Jawaun plans to take some time off and let it all soak in before starting to focus in on particular colleges.

"After this last camp, I'm going to take some time off and relax. I need to relax my legs as I've been running at every camp. Then I'll start working out with my team and get ready for the season. The process for me right now is to take some time off now and then get ready for the season. Either before the season on maybe the first week of September I want to make a decision."
