Divitto Talks Recruiting

Don Bosco is one of the more famous high school football programs in the country. Every year they send players to division one football programs, many to BCS caliber teams. This year is no exception. Several Bosco players have committed to BCS schools and several others have been offered. Outside linebacker Steele Divitto recently picked up an offer from Boston College.

Outside linebacker Steele Divitto has been busy this spring and summer. He has hit the camp circuit and made some visits to colleges. His team worked out at the Boston College camp ealier in the month and he picked up an offer from the Eagles.

"It is going pretty well. I've developed a list of top five schools. I'm not looking at anyone outside of that group. Boston College is definitely in that group. Penn State, Central Florida, Florida and Colorado. Those are the schools I'm looking at right now."

Steele was recently at Penn State, one of his favorites.

"Penn State has not offered. They wanted to see me in camp, but I could not go because of a family obligation. But, I did visit and they told me they had some other guys they are waiting on and will get back to me.

"I don't I think that is going to be the case. I know they have a few offers out to guys at my position and it will depend on what they do. Sometimes I wish I had maybe gone to some more camps last year, before my junior year. Then I would have probably gotten offered earlier by schools. But, I'm sure it will all work out for the best."

As far as where he will play at the next level, everyone agrees it is at linebacker.

"Everyone is recruiting me as an outside linebacker. I play linebacker and defensive end in high school. It depends on what defense we're running. We line up 4-4, 4-3 and even 3-4 at times. So, depending upon the defense I can be on the line or at linebacker."

The big offer so far comes from Boston College. The Eagles offered and stand out amongst his favorites.

"I love it up at BC. It is a great atmosphere, great coaches. Plus, there is the tradition of Bosco players going to Boston College. It is a great place to be. We have two guys up their now.

"BC has not put any pressure on me to commit. They offered me in camp. But, they are only taking two linebackers. There are a limited number of spots everywhere. The BC coaches are keeping me updated as to who they have offered and where things stand. There's not really too much pressure, but in a couple of weeks it will probably change. I plan to decide in the next couple weeks anyway, so I don't think I'll get too much pressure."

There may be one more trip to a college before he decides sometime in July.

"I'm thinking about going out to Colorado to visit there the first week of July. We have not decided that yet. I'm going to take some time off because we start football practice soon. Our practices start in July and then I will be too busy to go on visits."

At this point, the time table is to make a decision sometime in July. The five favorites are Boston College, Penn State, Florida, Central Florida and Colorado.
