Eagles Add A Linebacker

The Boston College linebacker class for 2010 is starting to come into focus. Don Bosco linebacker Steele Divitto committed to Boston College over the weekend. He joins Kevin Pierre-Louis in the 2010 class of linebackers and brings this class one step closer to conclusion.

In recent years, O-Line U has also become a strong program for producing linebackers. That starts with recruiting top athletes. The Eagles started this recruiting cycle off by adding big-time linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis in the spring. They added another piece when Steele Divitto committed to the Eagles over the weekend.

"I'm psyched. It is a great place and a great situation for me. There is so much pressure to make a decision in a short period of time. It is nice to get it over with and have that settled."

Divitto camped at Boston College with his teammates this summer where he and several others earned offers. He also held offers from seven other programs and was getting recruited by Penn State. He may have waited to see if Penn State was going to offer, but the strong interest from BC lead him to commit to the Eagles and bring his recruitment to an end.

"The reason I picked BC is the whole package. It is great academically. It is two hours away and it is great football. It is not just one of those things; it is the whole package that made it the right fit for me.

"The other thing is a I really like my my coach, Coach McGovern. He is terrific guy and we had a strong connection. The other thing is Coach Toal sent two of his sons there and was able to tell me everything about what it is like to go to BC. I really trust his judgment on this. He has really worked hard to help me through it."

Divitto has no other visits planned and is done with his recruiting. The plan now is to take some time off and then join his team in getting ready for his senior season.
