Butler Jumps in Race for Fleming

The Class of 2015 might not even be in many fans thoughts, with the 2013 season just ending. However, coaches across the country have been evaluating these players for years. After helping lead his team to a State Championship, Andrew Fleming continues to get increased attention.

Over the years, Brad Stevens has shown he isn't afraid to recruit players from all over the country. Butler has had players commit from Massachusetts to Florida to Australia.

This time, Butler has ventured into Tennessee for 2015 guard Andrew Fleming.

Fleming has already received offers from Florida, Vanderbilt, and Auburn, while Clemson, Notre Dame, Butler seem to be close to offering. He is also receiving interest from UCLA, Miami (FL), and Memphis.

There have been times where Brad Stevens will become directly involved with a prospects recruitment and this appears to be one of them.

"Me and Coach Stevens talked briefly for 15 minutes and he seems great," Fleming told IDP. "I really like him and we just laughed and talked about life and how everything has been going for me and him."

Stevens then let Fleming know they were in pursuit.

"He said ‘I know you have a lot of schools interested in you, and you can add Butler to that long list', so that was good to hear."

The 6-foot 4, 165 pound guard from Ensworth (TN) High School helped lead his team to a record of 23-8, on their way to the Division II-AA State Championship.

While not offering yet, Fleming is still interested in the Bulldogs. Butler traditionally does not offer prospects until their Junior year. They evaluate and are very selective with their offers.

"He (Stevens) hasn't offered any kids in the Class of 2015 yet, but he said we will talk about that later and he's excited to watch me play in the EYBL this season."

Fleming recently was named to 3rd Team All-MidState (Tennessee).
