Recruiting Buzz: Guards in the News

A few updates on Butler guard targets in the Class of 2014 and 2015, including Devin Mitchell, Jalen Adams, and Christen Cunningham.

Mitchell Takes Unofficials

Class of 2014 shooting guard Devin Mitchell is on an unofficial visit to Alabama today.

Mitchell recently completed a visit to Georgia Tech yesterday as well.

"It was cool," Mitchell said. "No offer still."

The 6-foot 3 guard has an offer from Alabama to go along with offers from Butler, Georgia, Kansas State, Marquette, Tennessee, Wake Forest, and a few others.

Mitchell will visit UAB and Wake Forest next week.

Butler remains in the picture for Mitchell and he still plans on visiting Butler "in August."

Adams Getting Attention from Butler

Butler is back at Cushing (MA) Academy for the Class of 2015.

Point guard Jalen Adams has been hearing from Butler about possibly joining former teammate Andrew Chrabascz in Indianapolis.

Adams currently has offers from Providence, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Kansas State.

While Butler has not offered yet, the talented point guard says that he and Chrabascz have talked about teaming up at Butler in the future.

It will be interesting to see where Butler goes with more guard offers in the Class of 2015. Adams could be in line for an offer if their efforts to sign a point guard in 2014 fall flat.

Clay Visits Butler, IUPUI

Another 2014 point guard visited Butler on Friday.

Christen Cunningham, Henry Clay (KY) High School, took an unofficial visit to Butler and IUPUI.

The 5-foot 10 point guard picked up an offer from IUPUI while on his visit there and said his visit went great on twitter.

Cunningham averaged 12.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game last season. He had a 2:1 Assist/Turnover Ratio.

He shot 45% (150-of-332) from the field including just 22% (12-of-55) from 3-point range. He was also 64% from the FT line.

Cunningham appears to be down the list of potential targets at point guard in the Class of 2014 after the recent offer to Lance Tejada from Pompano Beach, FL.
