Butler Still After Lyles

Despite going up against some of the elite schools in the country for 2014 PF Trey Lyles, Butler continues its pursuit.

Trey Lyles has been one of the most coveted recruits in the Class of 2014.

The 6-foot 9, 210 pound power forward has an offer list from the who's who of college basketball.

In February Lyles cut his list to six schools, which included Duke, Kentucky, UCLA, Florida, Louisville, and Butler.

Lyles has been rumored to favor Kentucky, Louisville, and even Florida at some point in the last four months.

Butler, however, is the one school from the State of Indiana still active in his recruitment.

We caught up with Lyles' dad for a quick update to see if Butler was still in contention.

"To date there are no changes with anything with him," Lyles said.

When asked if Butler was still considered an option and if Brad Stevens, and the staff, were in contact with Lyles regularly, Lyles assured us that the Bulldogs were still in contention.

"Yes he is and yes they are. All is great with Butler and we love and respect Coach Stevens."

Clearly the Lyles family has built a solid relationship with Coach Stevens.

WIll that be enough to put Butler over the top? Only time will tell.

The Arsenal Tech (IN) High School power forward is currently ranked 4th overall in the newly released 2014 Scout Top 100 and remains a 5-star prospect.

Lyles is currently representing Canada at the World Championships in Prague, Czech Republic.
