Mitchell Updates Recruitment

2014 shooting guard Devin Mitchell has seen his stock rise over the spring and summer. After a successful July evaluation period, it continues to rise with new interest from North Carolina and others. Mitchell sets a date when he will cut his list and says who is recruiting him the hardest.

After starting out 2013 as a relative unknown with offers from a few mid-majors, Suwanee (GA) Collins Hill guard Devin Mitchell has now become a household name amongst college coaches and recruiting analysts.

The 6-foot 3 guard led the county in scoring last season and took that momentum to the AAU circuit in the spring and summer.

Now Mitchell has picked up offer after offer including a few recently.

"Memphis, LSU, and Arkansas are my most recent offers," Mitchell said.

The four-star prospect also has offers from Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Xavier, Butler, Alabama, and a few others.

With the impressive stint for the Southern Kings in July comes new interest from schools like North Carolina and Kansas.

"I've talked to them a few times and they've been at some games. I talked to coach McGrath. At the two spot it looks like its going to come down to me, Devin Booker, and Robert Johnson."

While he continues to get new interest, Butler and Coach Miller have been recruiting Mitchell for a while this spring.

"They are still on me hard," Mitchell said. "Kansas State, Georgia, Alabama, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Butler, and Cincinnati are the schools recruiting me the hardest."

Mitchell has taken a few unofficial visits and plans to visit Vanderbilt on the weekend of August 2nd. With those visits Mitchell will be able to narrow his list very soon.

"Releasing my top 10 on August 10th," Mitchell said.

Mitchell hopes he is able to make his decision before November so that he can sign during the early signing period in November.

Butler continues to pursue multiple shooting guards in 2014. The Bulldogs have offered J.P. Macura and Riley LaChance.
