Bulldogs Fall to Boomers 96-57

Butler dropped its first game of their trip to Australia 96-57.

Butler lost its first game during their four game trip in Australia 96-57 to the Australian Boomers. Butler is now 2-1 on the trip Down Under.

The national team for Australia put the clamps on the Bulldogs early and often. The Bulldogs struggled to keep up with the 10th ranked team in the world according to FIBA.

Patty Mills and Joe Ingles led the Boomers with 17 points each, while Luke Nevill added 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Butler trailed early as Patty Mills and Luke Nevill paced the Boomers, who jumped out to a 23-9 lead early.

The Bulldogs couldn't cut the lead before half time and trailed 47-32 at the break.

In the 2nd half, Butler fell behind even further as Australia stretched their lead and finally defeated the Bulldogs by 39.

The Boomers shot 53% from the field, while connecting on 42% from 3-point range.

Butler now heads to Cairns, Australia to take on the Cairns Taipans tomorrow morning at 4:30 am EDT.
