Indianapolis - InsideTheDawgPound breaks down the latest news surrounding Butler recruiting. Here is the latest Recruiting Buzz.
Butler Back in the Hunt for Henriquez
As InsideTheDawgPound reported last Monday, Coach Brandon Miller was down in the Orlando area watching Henriquez practice. This shows that Butler thinks that Henriquez is one of their top priorities in the Class of 2014.
The Orlando (FL) Christian Prep guard recently decommitted from Miami (FL) after having committed to the Hurricanes last December. At the time of his commitment, Henriquez was a 4-star recruit ranked in the Scout Top 100. He is currently ranked as a 3-star prospect and the #28 shooting guard in the Class of 2014.
Butler looks to be in good position for the 6-foot 6 guard and could be receiving a visit in the coming weeks.
Butler Shows Interest in Garrett
Another guard to recently get interest from Butler is Class of 2014 point guard Jarvis Garrett.
Garrett, formerly of West Allis (WI) Central, reclassified to the Class of 2014 last spring and currently is attending Notre Dame Prep (MA).
The 5-foot 11 guard recently confirmed the interest from Butler.
"Yes they're (Butler) interested in me as of right now," Garrett told InsideTheDawgPound.
While Butler has shown interest, no offer has been discussed with Garrett. One of the hold ups in this recruitment could be the reclassification and prep school route that Garrett has taken. If his grades and class structure is in order, Butler could get serious about Garrett.
LaChance Continues to Get Interest
Riley LaChance has seen his list dwindle, but continues to see his offer list grow. After cutting his list to eight schools in August. However, the list that LaChance created has had two school dropped in recent weeks. Xavier was eliminated from his final list after accepting the commitment of fellow Class of 2014 guard J.P. Macura and Gonzaga after the commitment of Josh Perkins.
Despite losing two schools off of his eight school list, the Brookfield (WI) Central guard recently picked up an offer from Minnesota on Friday.
With the new offers and interest, LaChance continues to try to narrow his list for a decision. He recently completed his second official visit to Vanderbilt and currently has one additional official visit scheduled to Baylor (Sept 20).
The Badger-state combo guard continues to say that Butler is on his list, but has not scheduled an official visit due to its proximity to Brookfield. If Butler could get LaChance on campus again, the Bulldogs would be considered a more serious contender to sign him in November.
