Live Game Blog: Butler vs Nova Southeastern

Butler opens the season with an exhibition game against Division-2 Nova Southeastern.

The 2013-14 season gets underway tonight with the Butler Bulldogs hosting the Division-2 Nova Southeastern Sharks at Hinkle Fieldhouse at 7:30 pm.

New head coach Brandon Miller leads the team into their first live action of the season after completing the annual Blue/White Scrimmage on Saturday.

The Bulldogs are expected to start sophomore Kellen Dunham, juniors Alex Barlow and Kameron Woods, and seniors Khyle Marshall and Erik Fromm. Butler will also feature a number of freshman and underclassmen looking for experience and hungry for success.

Butler finished last season 27-9 and lost to Marquette in the 3rd Round of the NCAA Tournament. Nova Southeastern finished 15-12 in Division-2. NSU is 1-0 during exhibition play after defeating Marian 64-59 on Sunday.

The Sharks and Bulldogs have a connection as former Butler forward Brandon Crone, 2003-07, is an assistant coach for Nova Southeastern.
