Butler Scratches Past Evansville

Butler (9-2) used a late run in the 2nd half to defeat Evansville (6-6) 68-59 and extend their winning streak to four.

Evansville (IN) - Junior point guard Alex Barlow scored a career-high 16 points and helped Butler (9-2) defeat Evansville (6-6) 68-59 at the Ford Center in Evansville.

It was the first win for the Bulldogs at Evansville since 2009.

Barlow finished 5/12 from the field including 2/7 from three. He also added 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists.

Kellen Dunham added 15 points (5/16 FGs), 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Khyle Marshall had 12 points and 7 rebounds.

Each team started out cold from the field.

Evansville drained a three at the buzzer and took a 32-29 lead into halftime.

Despite the loss, sophomore guard D.J. Balentine scored a game-high 26 points on 9/21 shooting from the field. He also had 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Egidijus Mockevicius had 7 points and 15 rebounds, while Adam Wing added 7 points (2/5 3PT).

Kameron Woods continues his impressive season and helped Butler enjoy a huge advantage on the glass. The junior forward had 8 points and 13 rebounds.

Butler out-rebounded Evansville 49-31.
