Butler has lost three straight in the Big East. The Bulldogs lost their last game in double overtime to DePaul 99-94. Butler was led by Kellen Dunham who had 30 points (9/25 FG) and Kameron Woods who scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.

For the season, Butler is led by Dunham who is averaging 18.7 points per game, which ranks 3rd in the Big East. Khyle Marshall is second on the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game.

Brandon Miller has led Butler to a 10-5 record in his first season as head coach.

Georgetown enters the game 2-1 in the Big East after a difficult 70-52 loss at Providence. The Hoyas were led by Indianapolis-native D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera with 19 points, while Mikael Hopkins, who added 12 points off the bench.

The Hoyas were without Josh Smith, who transferred from UCLA. When the Hoyas travel to Indianapolis, Georgetown will be missing Smith again due to academic issues.

On the season Georgetown is led by Smith-Rivera averaging 17.2 points per game, while Markel Starks adds 15.4 points per game.

John Thompson III has led the Hoyas to 10-4 in his 10th season as head coach.

This will be the second meeting all-time. Georgetown won the first meeting in 2009 when the Hoyas defeated Butler 72-65 at Madison Square Garden.
