The Bulldogs are currently on a five game losing streak and are 0-5 in the Big East. It is the first time they have lost five straight to start conference play since 1989-90.

Butler lost their last game against Creighton 88-60. It was the largest margin defeat of the season for Butler. Butler was led by Kellen Dunham with 12 points and Khyle Marshall with 11.

First year head coach has the Bulldogs at 10-7 on the season and looking to bounce back from their tough start to conference play. The Bulldogs have lost 3 of 5 games in the Big East in overtime.

The Bulldogs are led by Dunham who is averaging 18.4 points per game, while Marshall adds 15.6 points per game.

Marquette heads to Hinkle Fieldhouse after squeezing out a 67-66 victory over Seton Hall to move to 2-2 in the Big East.

Against the Pirates the Golden Eagles were led by Todd Mayo who scored 19 points off the bench, while Jamil Wilson added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Buzz Williams is in his 6th season at Marquette and has them at 10-7 on the season. The Golden Eagles were picked to finish 1st in the league in the pre-season.

Davante Gardner leads the Golden Eagles in scoring and rebounding. The 6-foot 8 forward is averaging 13.7 points per game while shooting 54.4% from the field. Wilson is second on the team in scoring at 11.6 points per game.

Marquette leads the all-time series 15-12. The two teams split two meetings last season. The Bulldogs won the first during the Maui Invitational when Rotnei Clarke hit a buzzer beater, while Marquette won the second meeting during the NCAA tournament.

Butler and Marquette are back in the same conference for the 1st time since 1990 when both were apart of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference.
