Butler Extends New 2014 Offer

The Bulldogs signed two during the early signing period and look to add another.

INDIANAPOLIS (IN) - Butler has extended a new offer in the class of 2014 and this time it is to shooting guard Peyton Allen. The Bulldogs are looking to fill the scholarship of Andrew Smeathers who transferred before the season.

Allen visited Butler yesterday and picked up the offer from coach Miller and the Butler staff.

Coach Dana Morgan of the SW Illinois Jets updated InsideTheDawgPound on the Chatham (IL) Glenwood High School wing.

"He has offers from Idaho St, Illinois State, St. Joes, Bradley, Texas A&M, and Nevada. Tennessee, Arkansas, Vandy, and Alabama are all interested."

"Better kid than basketball player," Morgan said. "Great character, great work ethic and a excellent kid in the community. He is more than a shooter. He can put the ball on the floor, he can handle, get others involved and is athletic. He is a leader. He is a competitor."

Allen took an unofficial visit to Butler for the game against Marquette.

"He enjoyed the visit," Morgan said. "His parents liked the visit."

The 2014 wing has a visit planned to Texas A&M for early February (2/4) next.

IDP will continue to monitor and update as this story plays out.
