Lewis Heads to Butler

Former McDonalds All-American Tyler Lewis is transferring to Butler

INDIANAPOLIS (IN) - Butler has been searching and searching for a high level point guard for the past 12 months and the Bulldog coaching staff has finally found one.

After deciding to transfer from North Carolina State after his sophomore season, Tyler Lewis set his sights on the Bulldogs.

Lewis averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 assists per game last season.

Butler sealed the commitment with a great visit last week led by head coach Brandon Miller.

Assistant coach Chris Holtmann and his roots in North Carolina could have played a role in the interest, but Butler's need at the lead guard position may have been the biggest factor.

Lewis was ranked as the number 56 player in the class of 2012 and names a McDonald's All-American.
