Butler Next to Offer Beverly?

Will Butler be the next school to offer 3-star Hazard (KY) Perry County Central High School point guard Braxton Beverly? He recaps his visit to Indianapolis last week and calls from Butler on Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS (IN) - After picking up North Carolina State transfer Tyler Lewis in the summer, Butler continues to scour the country for a Class of 2016 point guard to pair with Lewis. The Bulldogs have targeted a few junior-to-be guards including Hazard (KY) Perry County Central guard Braxton Beverly.

Beverly currently has six offers from Western Kentucky, Northern Kentucky, Samford, Marshall, Cleveland State, and Kentucky Wesleylan. He is also receiving interest from Virginia, Minnesota, Princeton, Western Kentucky, UNC Wilmington, George Washington, and Miami (OH).

The 5-foot 10, 160-pound point guard visited Butler this past week and was able to get a feel for Coach Holtmann and Miller.

"Loved it!," Beverly said. "They just toured me all around campus and in Hinkle and went to coach millers office and watch film."

June 15th was the first day schools could reach out to Class of 2016 prospects and Butler was one of the programs to reach out to the 3-star point guard the most and make another impression.

"I've talked to Butler and Minnesota the most today," Beverly said. "So Butler probably sticks out a little more since that's where I've been on a visit."

With the increased interest, is an offer on the way for the 18th ranked point guard in the Class of 2016?

"Coach Miller and Coach Holtmann texted me and I'm thinking the way they were talking they should after my transcripts go through their admissions office."

Butler has offered two other point guards in the class of 2016, 3-star Payton Pritchard (OR) and 2-star C.J. Walker (IN).
