Dunham, Bulldogs Move to 2-0

Butler (2-0) pulled away from Chattanooga (1-2) in the 2nd half to win 70-48 on Tuesday night at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

INDIANAPOLIS (IN) - Butler (2-0) junior guard Kellen Dunham scored 26 points and the Bulldogs defeated Chattanooga (1-2) 70-48.

Dunham connected on 10/12 free throws and 7/12 field goals in route to his game-high 26 points. He also finished 2/5 from 3-point range.

Kameron Woods also had a big game. He collected his first double-double of the season, scoring 10 points and grabbing a career-high 16 rebounds.

The Bulldogs were able to hang onto the ball against the 'Chaos' defense from Chattanooga and 2nd year head coach Will Wade. Butler turned the ball over just 11 times, while the Mocs had 19 turnovers, leading to 25 points.

Butler shot poorly in the 1st half against the Mocs. The Bulldogs finished 8/23 from the field and 6/12 from the FT line in the opening half. They led just 25-22 at the break.

In the 2nd half the Bulldogs were able to capitalize on 11 Moc turnovers and outscored Chattanooga 45-26 over the final 20 minutes.

Chattanooga was led by guard Casey Jones with 14 points (3/9 PG, 8/10 FT) and long-range specialist Eric Robertson off the bench with 12 points (4/5 3PT).

Senior guard Alex Barlow added 11 points, while redshirt junior Roosevelt Jones finished with 8 points, 7 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Butler finished 22/53 (41.5%) from the field including 5/13 (38.5%) from the 3-point line, while Chattanooga finished 16/47 (34%) from the field including 6/20 (30%) from the 3-point line.

It was over when...Butler went on a 16-5 run during the middle of the 2nd half and extended its lead to 57-39 with 4:23 to go in the game.

NOTES:Butler out-rebounded Chattanooga 38-31...Just 8 players saw action for the Bulldogs...Kelan Martin was held scoreless in 9 minutes (0/3 FG)...Butler shot 21/34 (61.8%) from the FT line...Austin Etherington and Tyler Wideman each had 3 points off the bench...Butler was 14/30 (46.7%) from the field in the 2nd half.
