Butler it is for Brunk

Butler landed its first commitment in 2016 in 4-star forward/center Joey Brunk

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Butler is off to a great start to the class of 2016.

The Bulldogs and head coach Chris Holtmann landed a Top-100 commitment in 4-star center Joey Brunk.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound center from Southport (IN) High School has liked the Bulldogs for a while and when lead recruiter Chris Holtmann took over as head coach, Butler was on top.

Brunk took official visits to Oklahoma and Butler before selecting the Bulldogs. He also had offers from Michigan State, Missouri, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Xavier, and others.

Brunk is the lone commitment in 2016 for Butler, but the Bulldogs are after a number of high-profile prospects including 4-star point guard C.J. Walker (IN), small forward Jarron Cumberland (OH), shooting guard Eron Gordon (IN), small forward Seth Towns (OH), and a few others.

With the fall signing period a few months away, Butler looks to be in good position for one of their best classes in history.
