Cougars 26-50

The second quarter of the roster includes a lot of defensive backs and running backs that are competing for spots. It also includes most of the walk-ons that are trying to solidify spots on the team this coming season.

#26 Robbie Buckner 5-10, 176 Jr. Buckner has been the most consistent cover corner during spring practices. The starting field corner spot appears to be his to lose.

#26 Brady Hunt 6-2, 200 Fr. Hunt is adding depth to the wide receiver position and trying to earn a spot.

#27 David Foote 5-11, 208 Jr. Foote has always impressed during practice sessions and is again getting a lot of work with the twos and the threes. He's looking to contribute regularly during game situations.

#28 Kori Gaines 5-8, 162 Fr. Gaines has sat out spring practices due to violating team rules. He's still enrolled and attends practices frequently.

#28 Kurt Henderson 6-2, 170 Fr. Henderson is adding depth to the wide receiver position and trying to earn a spot on the team.

#28 Jordan Johnson 5-10, 175 Fr. Johnson has had a very productive practice session and is competing hard for the starting FCB position. He's shown very good coverage skills that seem to be improving with every day and has proven to be a very good tackler.

#29 Skye Povey 6-0, 180 So. Povey is adding good depth to the defensive back position.

#29 Jordan Smith 6-4, 205 So. Smith hasn't seen a lot of work during team drills as he looks to establish himself following his mission service. He's competing at the wide receiver position.

#31 Aveni Leung-Wai 6-1, 238 Sr. Leung-Wai has seen reps with the twos and the threes on defense playing the Buck linebacker position. He'll be aiming to break the two-deep roster and be in the regular inside linebacker rotation.

#32 Nate Carter 5-9, 192 Fr. Carter is working hard for a spot on the team playing running back.

#32 Mike Hague 5-10, 210 Jr. Hague is one of the better stories of spring practice, having shed a ton of weight to compete at safety. He's seen virtually all the reps at free safety with the second-team defense.

#33 Cole Herrmann 6-0, 186 Fr. Hermann is looking for a spot on the team at defensive back.

#33 Bryan Kariya 6-0, 218 Sr. Kariya is the same reliable player this spring that fans have grown accustomed. He's ran very hard and will no doubt play a big role in the offensive backfield this coming season.

#34 Austen Jorgensen 6-2, 235 Jr. Jorgensen has seen most of his reps with the twos playing the Mike linebacker spot this spring. He should be a good bet to break the two-deep and be in the regular inside linebacker rotation this coming season.

#34 Garrett Juergens 5-10, 185 Fr. Juergens has been switched to defensive back and is looking to add some good depth at the position.

#35 Zed Mendenhall 5-11, 239 Jr. Mendenhall is reprising his role as a punishing lead-blocker out of the fullback position.

#35 Seth Probert 6-3, 205 Fr. Probert is adding good depth to the linebacker spot and is looking for a spot on the team this coming fall.

#36 Ryan Folsom 5-10, 194 So. Folsom is looking to add depth to the running back position.

#36 Alani Fua 6-5, 195 Fr. Fua has had a very productive spring practice session. He's been a mainstay at Sam linebacker with the twos on defense and has received a lot of praise from his position coach Kelly Poppinga.

#37 Justin Sorensen 6-2, 230 So. Sorensen has proven to be accurate, but doesn't have the incredible length he did before his mission quite yet. He mentioned to me that he's kicking the ball between 65-70 yards off the tee, when before his mission he was close to 80 yards.

#38 Nathan Killpack 6-1, 185 So. Killpack is adding depth to the kicking position.

#39 Brad Beeston 5-11, 175 Fr. Beeston is adding depth to the defensive backs and looking for a spot on the team this coming fall.

#39 Skyler Ridley 5-11, 168 So. Ridley has looked good during drills and should add good depth to the receiver position this coming fall.

#41 Matt Putnam 6-6, 271 Sr. Putnam has seen every rep at defensive end with the ones this spring. He's looking to become an every-down defensive end and has bulked up and looks improved in his ability to defend the run.

#42 Michael Alisa 6-1, 215 So. Alisa has seen some reps playing fullback with the ones, but mostly with the twos on offense. He looks to be a good bet to at least break the two-deep roster and add positively to the offense's overall production.

#43 Jordan Atkinson 6-3, 230 Sr. Atkinson hasn't been seen this spring, and it's highly questionable if he'll ever play for the team again. We'll keep an eye out for him, as he could add some good depth at Will linebacker.

#44 Brandon Ogletree 5-11 225 Jr. Ogletree got hurt early on during the spring practice session and has been sitting it out. He's a very good bet to start again at the Buck linebacker position.

#45 Tyler Beck 6-1, 210 So. Beck just can't seem to be able to keep healthy. He had been seeing good reps at Buck linebacker, but has sat out for the past week or so due to injury.

#46 Kevan Bills 6-3, 225 Fr. Bills is seeing some very good practice experience playing at Will linebacker with the twos on defense. He'll look for a spot on the two-deep roster this coming fall.

#47 Spencer Hadley 6-1, 221 So. Hadley has looked very good coming off his mission service and has seen a lot of reps playing at Buck linebacker with the first-team defense. He has a very good shot at breaking the two-deep roster this coming fall.

#48 Jameson Frazier 6-2, 225 Sr. Frazier has been consistent as ever playing at outside linebacker with the first-team defense. He'll at the very least break the two-deep roster and see a lot of playing time this coming season.

#49 Jadon Wagner 6-4, 246 Sr. Wagner isn't currently with the team and his return is questionable.

#50 Ryan Freeman 6-2, 272 Jr. Freeman has been injured and hasn't been able to participate during spring.
