Weeks racks up long list of accolades

Show Low High School wide receiver Josh Weeks continues to rack up post-season honors. The BYU commit was named to the Division 4 All-State squad and was named the Top Offensive Player in all of Division 4 Section 1. Weeks was also named to the Arizona Football Coaches Association Big 25 All-Arizona team and was invited to the Inaugural Semper Fidelis High School All-American Bowl on January 3.

Future BYU wide receiver Josh Weeks was selected among the nation's 100 elite high school football players to play in the Semper Fidelis High School All-American Bowl sponsored by the United States Marine Corps. The selection process is headed by well-known college football recruiting guru Tom Lemming.

The Arizona wide receiver star and future Cougar holds six Arizona receiving records, including a career 11-man state record for receptions with 187, career yards with 3,851 and touchdown catches with 46.

Along with those three records, Weeks also holds the 3A single-game yardage record with 289 yards receiving, 3A season receiving yardage record with 1,561 and the 3A season touchdown reception record with 20.

Those state records would have been much higher, but his team needed him to play quarterback, making the time in which Weeks reached those accomplishments even more remarkable.

"Everything I've been able to achieve and the records I've been able to break are just a reflection of the great people who I've had around me," said a humble Weeks.

Weeks received an in-home visit from BYU assistant coach Paul Tidwell on December 15. Coach Tidwell spent an hour and a half with Weeks and his family, discussing everything from mission plans, this past season, and the future of BYU football.

"Coach Tidwell told me that BYU is excited to have me beginning in 2014," Weeks said. "They're confident that I will be a nice addition to the tradition of great wide receivers at BYU for many years."

Weeks will be taking an official visit to BYU in January with Elite 11 quarterback MVP Tanner Mangum. Along with Mangum, Weeks will enroll in January 2014 following a two-year mission.
